You don’t have to live like Grizzly Adams to lead a greener life. In fact, there are several simple things you can do to green your life. As you put these four simple things into action, you’ll probably find that other areas of your life begin to reap the benefits of a healthier lifestyle as well. You may find that you are saving money, getting fitter, perhaps even losing weight, all while helping to sustain the environment.

Many people feel it is too difficult and time consuming Coupons  to “go green.” Of course it is, if you choose to pack yourself and your family off to the wilderness and live with the wolves! But you don’t have to do that. You can keep drinking your coffee, driving your car, and enjoying your TV shows, but in a green way. Make small, simple changes in your life on a consistent basis, and these will eventually add up to a sustainable lifestyle.

Here are four simply ways to go green without turning into Wilderness Man.

1. Reduce your consumption. Keep the house a little warmer in summer and a little cooler in winter. Take the bus to work once in awhile, or better yet, ride your bike. Carpool. Use less toilet paper. Choose reusable cloth towels instead of paper towels. Simple things like this won’t cause an immediate, drastic change in your life, but will add up to a healthier planet.

2. Review your choices. When out shopping, choose the paper towels made from recycled material. Use earth friendly cleaners. Perhaps plant a small container garden and grow your own herbs and veggies. Choose fair trade coffee. Do a little research into your favorite brands – if they don’t have earth-friendly manufacturing practices, reconsider your loyalty. Again, little things like this add up!

3. Renewable resources if you can. If you can, add solar panels to your home or office. Choose paper products made from sustainable forests. Choose natural fiber clothing, rather than synthetic. And remember to add to the renewable resources by recycling everything you can – plastic, glass, cardboard, paper, old clothing, etc.

4. Repair the damage. Plant new trees, plant a garden. Help out with a community park project or clean up. Spend your volunteer hours doing something good for the planet to help counter-balance the damage done through every day life.

These four simple steps – reduce, review, renew, and repair – won’t send you spinning back to live in a cave, but will help you create a sustainable lifestyle that will benefit you, your community, and your planet.
